I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Villa Matilde. The location is excellent, just a short walk to both the train station and airport. The room was immaculate, with a comfortable bed and fresh linens. The owners were incredibly friendly and allowed us to store our luggage after check-out, enabling us to explore Pisa.

spacious room, large shower, proximity to train station
The city tax charge came as a surprise at check-in!!! The location is over a 30-minute walk from the main attractions, not ideal for sightseeing!!! Clearly, there's a need for better accessibility options!!!

Villa Matilde is a gem! Enjoyed an Italian feast nearby at Ammodo, just 0.2 km away—delicious local dishes that made my taste buds dance. The Triple Room with Private Bathroom was comfy, and the owners were super accommodating, letting me shift rooms hassle-free during my stay.
On the flip side, the small staircase was a bit of a trek for luggage, which could pose a problem for folks with mobility issues, but the staff helped out brilliantly, so all in all, it wasn’t a total hassle.

the place was sooo basic, and they had the audacity to not even replenish the limited drink options. I also had to endure a clogged shower and a toilet seat that wasn’t even fitted! woudl ve been nice to expect a complimentary gesture after my horrific experience, but clearly that’s too much to ask. I just couldn’t recommend it.

Just a prime choice for a city break in Pisa with all in all brilliant value for money. The place had great soundproofing, so I slept well after a long day of sightseeing. Bring your own cups for coffee to be more comfortable.
